Voting Question: Failure to drive within Marked lane, causing accident, Am I really at fault?

I live in Las Vegas, NV. Home to the crazy drivers. I am an excellent driver, and always cautious. I had just picked up my bestfriend, and we were heading back to pick up my siblings from school. I was on the 2-15, already in the lane for the exit to the junction of North and Southbound 515. This person in a white SUV(Chevy Suburban) is in the lane beside me designated for southbound traffic. The front of my car is where their driver side door is. The person immediately starts merging into my lane, no signal and doesnt realize Im here. Their car is way bigger than mine(I had a 88' Chevy Celebrity), With barely enough time to honk, and no time to brake, and I had two choices: Be pushed into the metal median that blocks the concrete dividers, or try to escape and do something else. I slammed the breaks, and tried to get off the exit, and my car slammed into the median anyways, flung sideways, and then was hit from behind another car, which was hit by a truck. My friend and I were, miraculously, okay, suffering merely cuts and bruises and minor whiplash. The lady who hit me from behind took a broken wrist, and the person in the truck had no injuries. The White SUV never stopped. Several witnesses including those in the accident all said the same thing about the White SUV, basically backing up my story. After the crash I was in shock, weak, and wasnt thinking straight. The fireman, NOT THE POLICE, asked for my wallet, and I said I didnt know,. It was in my pocket the whole time. The car is registered to my mother. I got 3 citations : Failure to drive within Marked Lane, causing accident; Driving without valid license; and no proof of in possession. Am I really at fault for the whole accident. I was cooperative the whole time, never rude, respectful. I feel like they needed to blame someone, and since Im young and was the first vehicle to crash, they pinned everything on me. Is there a chance at fighting this? Thank you, Im not court savvy, so I didnt know all that. I appreciate your response. I have a valid drivers license, inside my wallet with me the whole time; I didnt realize it till I got home took a shower. The shock from the crash and me dazed, and the firemen even told me that I was still in shock.... Read More »
